Effective coaching and tutoring are rooted in relationships formed with mutual respect and trust. Using current research and leaning into over 25 years of experience, I collaborate with educators to celebrate what is working well and encourage small steps to grow. As Maya Angelou says, “When we know better, we do better.”

All learners are unique and deserve a stimulating educational environment, where they can grow socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Mitsis Literacy Connections meets learners where they are. Direct, multi-sensory, explicit instruction is central to our practice, as we guide learning while offering efficacious feedback. The learners develop more confidence and feel empowered, as they are challenged and supported to achieve high standards. We value engagement, hands-on practice, collaboration, curiosity, and choice. 

 

We partner with the learner to develop confidence, as we celebrate strengths and growth. We identify barriers and develop skills and strategies to support vulnerabilities, as learners build a growth mindset.
